SO MUCH TO DO IN OUR AREA!
Scroll down for all the scoop.
The old west at our door step. This is a photo of Warren Earp's gravesite with the Dos Cabezas mountains in the background. He was gunned down in Willcox at the corner of Railroad Ave. and Hwy. 186 on July 6, 1900. This old cemetary, not far from the site of the deadly deed, is haunting in and of itself. It's sandy, barren, ill-kept, and lonesome. The movie studios would have a difficult time replicating the feel, the authenticity, and the history of this site. The saloon where he was shot is now a gift shop on Railroad Avenue in Willcox. (See photo below.)
Warren Earp's final moments were spent here...
Old ruins in the ghost town of Dos Cabezas, which is listed as one of the top ten Arizona ghost towns, out of hundreds!
The Dos Cabezas cemetary is ranked as the Number One ghost town cemetary in the entire state of AZ. Click on the link below.

The cranes over Dos Cabezas, Willcox and Whitewater Draw made front page news recently in the Arizona Star newspaper from Tucson. The AZ Game and Fish declare that there are 40,499 cranes here this year, a record number. However, as a birding expert asked, where is the 40,500th crane?

Dos Cabezas Spirit and Nature Retreat is close to Tombstone, once the home of Big Nose Kate and her notorious partner, Doc Holliday. After Doc's death in Glenwood Springs, CO in 1887, she married an alcoholic by the name of George Cummings and later walked out on him in 1896. Kate found her way back to Arizona and eventually around 1899 took a job as housekeeper to Jack Howard, a miner at Dos Cabezas. Kate went to great lengths to conceal her previous identity and was known as Mrs. Cummings. This was easy to do in those days as it was a "fer piece" between communities like Dos Cabezas and Tombstone. When you visit, we'll tell you what became of Big Nose Kate!

This rail car was part of the famous Mascot Mine railway from Willcox to Dos Cabezas, built by T.N. McCauley who sold stock to the mine out of our guesthouse! When you stay with us, you are living a part of Arizona history!
Buffalo Sisters Trading Post carries some of the best antiques and is all around just a really fun place to browse. You never know what treasures you will find!
