SPIRIT AND NATURE

"Spirit and Nature Dancing Together."
from a chant by Paramahansa Yogananda

"Follow your bliss!"
from The Power of Myth by Joseph Campbell

Dos Cabezas Spirit and Nature Retreat is ideal for peaceful meditation. It's the ultimate quiet place, away from all the city noises and distractions. Early each morning and in the late afternoon, a mystical glow streams through the mountains and the trees - highlighting the landscape. There is always the expectation of seeing the bounty of nature... mule deer, javelina, quail, and many of the hundreds of species of wild birds.

We look forward to hosting meditation retreats, concerts, and art workshops at our Retreat. You are welcome to join our morning or evening meditations.

Folow your bliss to our Retreat whether you are looking for spirit, nature, or both. This is the place to simply enjoy the beauty and inner peace attained through communication with nature. Close by are the fabulous birding and nature areas of the Willcox Twin Lakes, the Chiricahuas, and Whitewater Draw Lake. The Dos Cabezas and Chiricahua Mountains are part of the famous Sky Island chain of mountians in southeastern Arizona which are separated by desert valleys, resulting in the unique bio-diversity of each Sky Island. Learn more about the importance of this nature area at the Sky Island Alliance website found on our Links page.

Lesser long-nose nectar bats from south of the border follow the agave and saguaro bloom in summer and also drink from feeders at Dos Cabezas Spirit and Nature Retreat! In 1988 these bats were listed as endangered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service. Maternity roost disturbance and effects of habitat loss are the primary threats for these bats.
